A 30 minute presentation will be delivered annually by Building Managers (i.e. school Principals, Institute Directors) to all DET staff and P&C associations in locations where there is confirmed and/or presumed asbestos containing materials in DET facilities. You can choose 1 of 2 ways to deliver this to all staff annually.
You can also use option 1 or 2 to support new starters to complete their awareness training as part of their induction.
Below is a list of all the tools and formats you have to use in helping you deliver the Asbestos Awareness induction training. Please review the instructional letter first for guidance and then preferred training package and attendance register;
334k - This letter outlining what you need to do.
22.1M - This is a PowerPoint that automatically opens in slide show mode and is designed to play the slides and audio automatically from start to finish. To access the presentation, right click on the link and select 'Save Target As...' to save the zip file to your desktop. Once downloaded, locate the zip file, right click and select 'Extract All', following the prompts to unzip the contents to your desktop. Once unzipped, double click the PowerPoint file to play with audio. 1.3M - This is designed to be a written copy of the PowerPoint Show audio video training presenter script. It can be used to support the person listening to the presentation or telling the presenter what to say if they wish to use the non-audio format and deliver the training themselves.
6.2M - This is a PowerPoint that you would manually put into slide show and click and talk your way through the slides if you wish to deliver the presentation yourself in lieu of the audio version. 6.3M - This is the slides only and can be played full screen mode (and it works just like PowerPoint) however it will work on any PC (Mac, Windows - any version software). 185k - A blank template for the person taking the session. They will get participants to sign to say they have attended and completed the training for this year. This documents needs to be kept for record keeping purposes as a record of attendance for view by auditors.If you have any queries please contact your local facilities representative from the contacts list.
