Leadership development program for aspiring principals and associate leaders

The Take the Lead leadership and development program is the department's strategy to develop the skills and capabilities of selected participants as high performing school leaders. The program attracts and recruits high-performing teachers, associate leaders and principals who aspire to higher level school leadership roles in rural or remote locations in Queensland

Participants can complete the program through one of three strands:

  1. Take the Lead for aspiring teaching principals of rural and remote schools.
  2. Take the Lead for aspiring associate school leaders (deputy principals, heads of department and heads of curriculum).
