Adult Learners' Week (ALW) has been celebrated in Australia since 1995 and is part of an international festival of adult learning.
ALW is celebrated annually from 1-8 September and its aim is to celebrate and promote all forms of adult and lifelong learning with a strong focus on literacy.
ALW includes hundreds of events and activities designed to promote the benefits of adult and lifelong learning - in the home, at work and in the community. It aims to highlight the many adult learning options available.
The week will be launched at the State Library of Queensland on Sunday 31 August 2008 with a range of free workshops or Learning Tasters from 10 am - 3 pm. More information can be found on the Learning Tasters page.
