Adult Learners' Week (ALW) is celebrated annually from 1 - 8 September and aims to celebrate and promote all forms of adult and lifelong learning highlighting the importance of literacy.
In 2009, ALW has a strong focus on a grants program to encourage community groups to host events and activities designed to promote the benefits of adult and lifelong learning - in the home, at work and in the community.
Event Organisers
Grants are now closed. However, if you are planning to host an event during ALW, you are encouraged to fill out the Event Details Form (new window) 177k
and return it to the ALW State Coordinator for inclusion on the Calendar of Events page.
An Adult Learners' Week poster (new window) 101k
is also available for you to download and print for further promotion of your event.
Event Participants
If you would like to attend an event or activity during Adult Learners' Week, visit the Calendar of Events page for events happening in your local area.
