Creative Generation - State Schools Onstage

Creative Generation - State Schools Onstage (CGEN) 2017 celebrated its thirteenth year as Queensland's largest youth performing arts event at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre with four performances on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 July. More than 1800 students from Prep to Year 12 represented state schools from from as far north as Weipa, Winton in the west and Palm Beach in south-east Queensland.

CGEN aims to mentor and foster the next generation of performers and provides opportunities for them to work with and learn from professional artists. This annual entertainment event has launched the professional careers of many students who have gone on to star in theatre, television and musical productions.

CGEN was proudly presented by the Department of Education and Training and sponsored by QUT, AEG Ogden, The Courier-Mail, Network Ten, Nova 106.9, The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre and QSuper.
