Creative Generation - State Schools Onstage (CGEN) 2016 celebrated its twelfth year as Queensland's largest youth performing arts event at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre with four performances on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 July. More than 1700 students from Prep to Year 12 represented state schools from across Queensland.
CGEN aims to mentor and foster the next generation of performers and provides opportunities for them to work with and learn from professional artists. This annual entertainment event has launched the professional careers of many students who have gone on to star in theatre, television and musical productions.
Creative Generation - State Schools Onstage 2016 was proudly presented by the Department of Education and Training, Principal partners Queensland University of Technology Creative Industries and AEG Ogden, Major Partner The Courier-Mail, broadcast partner Network Ten, radio partner NOVA 106.9 and venue partner Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
