Creative Generation - State Schools Onstage 2007 was staged in three performances on Thursday 31 May and Friday 1 June 2007 at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre Concert Hall as the gala final celebration of State Education Week.
As the leading performance event on Queensland state schools' performing arts calendars, Creative Generation - State Schools Onstage 2007 showcased excellence in the arts in Queensland state schools.
In its third year of production, the show evolved into a renowned educational and entertainment event of the highest professional standard, showcasing the wealth of Queensland state schools' creative talent.
Creative Generation - State Schools Onstage 2007 incorporated more than 550 talented Queensland state school performers in an exciting entertainment spectacular featuring a 70-piece orchestra, 220 dancers, a 220-voice choir and talented featured artists and backing vocalists.
The show provided valuable learning experiences for the student performers through the choir, dance, instrumental and vocal workshops they attended throughout April and May 2007. They rehearsed with professional artists, choreographers and tutors throughout the preparation of the show. Many students also had the opportunity to perform in the show alongside professional artists.
Professional artists who performed in Creative Generation - State Schools Onstage 2007 included Julie Goodwin, Paul Bishop, Amanda Goddard, Paula Michelle, Kim Kirkman, Shaun Brown, Raw Dance Company, Zen Zen Zo, Flipside Circus, and Adrian Ross.
Acclaimed by audiences as the most heart-warming performance event of the year, Creative Generation - State Schools Onstage is sponsored by QSuper, and supported by the Queensland Performing Arts Centre and Network Ten. Other supporters include Vocal Manoeuvres, Raw Dance Company, Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre and Flipside Circus.
