On Queensland Day, Saturday 6 June, more than 2000 state school students came together at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Boondall, to celebrate the state 's people, places and stories as part of Creative Generation — State Schools Onstage 2009.
A spectacular success, the show demonstrated just how much talent exists in our Queensland state schools with performances by student vocalists, dancers, musicians and variety performers.
The level of professionalism of the students and the quality of their performances was of the highest standard and their abilities amazed audiences and Creative Generation organisers alike.
Young or old, the show had something for everyone and you could not help but be impressed by Queensland 's state school students.
Throughout the rehearsal process, students gained invaluable guidance, support and insight into the performing arts from professional tutors, coaches and choreographers.
For many students, the opportunity to perform with some of Queensland 's greatest performing artists was the highlight and for others, it was the chance to perform on such a grand scale in front of so many people.
You can be sure that for many of the young performers in Creative Generation — State Schools Onstage 2009, it will be an experience that they will never forget and for some, it may even change their lives. All students in the production have bright futures ahead of them.
