More than 1800 students from over 120 schools throughout Queensland took part in an awe-inspiring production of Creative Generation - State Schools Onstage at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 July 2017. The event celebrated its 13th year showcasing the amazing talents of students ranging from Kindy to Year 12.
The 2017 production invited student performers to connect and engage with youth from across the Commonwealth by sharing their dreams, as we look towards the Gold Coast in April 2018. Focussing on the Commonwealth Games Federation core values of Humanity, Equality and Destiny, students wrote postcards to share what these values mean to them. In turn, students from across the Commonwealth were encouraged to share their hopes and dreams with us.
The messages were placed with a traditional Indigenous message stick provided by the Elders of the South East region and placed within the CGEN Dream baton, which made its way onto the arena to deliver the special messages for all to enjoy. Through performance and imaginary, our Creative Generation brought these values to life on stage.
