State Education Week

State Education Week 2008 was held from Monday 26 to Friday 30 May.

The week-long celebrations are held each year in schools across Queensland and provide an opportunity for Queenslanders to recognise the talent and achievements of students and teachers in state schools.

Schools are encouraged to get involved in State Education Week by hosting their own events, or getting involved in the range of exciting state-wide programs such as My Favourite Teacher, Principal for a Day and Back to School.

The Showcase Awards for Excellence in Schools regional winners were announced at ceremonies across Queensland during the week.

State Education Week 2008 culminated with the Creative Generation - State Schools Onstage performance, the leading performance event on Queensland state schools' performing arts calendars.

State Education Week was an opportunity for Queenslanders everywhere to recognise the amazing talent and achievements of students and teachers in state schools.
