State schools across Queensland will celebrate State Education Week 2012 from Sunday 20 May to Saturday 26 May by opening their doors to the community.
The annual week-long celebration is an opportunity to recognise the talent and achievements of students and teachers in state schools, and showcase their wonderful work to the wider community.
Schools are hosting events across the state - from morning teas and open days, to special school parades and art shows - as well as taking part in a range of exciting statewide programs such as My Favourite Teacher, Principal for a Day, Director-General for a Day and P&C Day. The Showcase Awards for Excellence in Schools regional winners are also announced at ceremonies throughout Queensland.
