National Literacy and Numeracy Week (NLNW)

National Literacy and Numeracy Week (NLNW) is an Australian Government initiative, supported by Education Queensland.

Queensland schools celebrated National Literacy and Numeracy Week from 29 August to 4 September 2011.

Key national events for 2011 include:

• Reach for the stars - a numeracy event aimed at pre-school to junior secondary school students (kindergarten to Year 9).
• National Celebration of literacy - a literacy event to be held on 31 August for primary and secondary school students.
• Dorothea Mackellar poetry award - a national poetry competition for school-aged students.
