Thank you for visiting the Queensland National Literacy and Numeracy Week (NLNW) 2009 website.
In 2009, National Literacy and Numeracy week will be celebrated from 31 August to 6 September.
The theme for celebrations in 2009 is 'Getting the basics right'.
All Queensland schools are encouraged to celebrate National Literacy and Numeracy Week 2009, and to either organise and/or participate in events at school and outside school during this week.
Listen to web stories from a number of Queensland schools. These stories share and celebrate the professional learning of teachers engaged in successful literacy or numeracy projects.
Celebration ideas and resources for schools and the link to key national events can be found in the navigation bar on the left hand side of this page.
The key national events provide an opportunity for schools to participate in activities along with other schools from all around Australia.National Reading Day will be held on 2 September 2009 and will be a key event of NLNW in 2009.
We are currently gearing up for 2009. Please check this site regularly for updated NLNW 2009 information.
