Nominations for the 2012 Showcase Awards for Excellence in Schools have now closed
The Showcase Awards for Excellence in Schools gives Queensland State Schools the chance to shine in the spotlight and the opportunity to share in more than $370 000 in development grants.
The program is designed for Queensland State Schools and has eight categories that aim to:
- recognise, celebrate and reward excellent teaching practice in State Schools
- foster a learning culture that supports sharing excellent practices
- create professional development opportunities and
- promote public education.
The eight categories for 2012 are:
- The Network Ten Showcase Award for Excellence in the Early Phase of Learning
- The Commonwealth Bank of Australia Showcase Award for Excellence in the Middle Phase of Learning
- The Showcase Award for Excellence in the Senior Phase of Learning
- The Village Roadshow Theme Parks Showcase Award for Excellence in Inclusive Education
- The Queensland University of Technology Showcase Award for Excellence in Leadership
- The RemServ Showcase Award for Excellence in Innovation
- The QSuper Showcase Award for Academic Success
- The BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance Showcase Award for Excellence in Community or Industry Partnerships.
In 2012:
- up to 97 regional awards will be announced during State Education Week 2012, 20-26 May 2012, each receiving $1000 in development grants
- a total of 24 State Finalists (three from each category) will receive $5000 in development grants
- eight State Awards Winners will receive $20 000 in development grants and will be announced at the Showcase Gala Dinner on Friday 12 October 2012.
