The 2018 Showcase Award Guidelines outline the award categories, criterion, how to enter, key dates, development grants and the selection process.

Example submission templates

Two submissions are available as examples to support applicants to prepare their submissions. These example submissions are based on winning submissions from the 2017 Showcase Awards, and have been annotated to show how information could be provided to address the 2018 Showcase Awards judging standards.

Planning a Showcase Award submission

This session will assist participants to plan a Showcase Award submission. It will explore:

  • the different award categories
  • supporting resources
  • the relationship between the Standards of Evidence and Showcase Awards judging standards
  • gathering evidence to support a submission.

Understanding the Showcase Awards judging standards

This session will focus on the Showcase Awards judging standards and will assist participants to understand:

  • the four dimensions: design, impact, scalability and investment
  • the five levels within each dimension.

Writing a Showcase Award submission

This session will focus on writing a submission for a Showcase Award. It will assist participants to:

  • use the Showcase Award submission template
  • select supporting information to include in the appendix
  • address the Showcase Awards judging standards.

How to enter

Participation in the 2018 Showcase Awards involves the following steps:

1. Nomination due 5pm Friday 18 May 2018

Nominations have now closed.

2. Regional awards judging

Regional selection teams will review submissions and select one winner and up to two commendation submissions per Showcase Award category. For the Rural and Remote Education category a separate selection panel will select five winners and up to ten commendations. The regional awards will be announced on Thursday 21 June 2018.

3. State awards judging

Regional winners will be shortlisted in July 2018 and two programs per category will be announced as state finalists on Monday 30 July 2018.

State finalist judging will take place on 25 and 26 October 2018, with winners announced at the Showcase Awards Gala Dinner on Friday 26 October 2018 in Brisbane.
