Showcase Awards for Excellence in Schools 2009
Showcase State Winners have been announced.
The Showcase Awards for Excellence in Schools 2009 gives Queensland State Schools the chance to shine in the spotlight and the opportunity to share in more than $370 000 in grants.
The Showcase program is designed for Queensland State Schools and has eight categories that aim to:
- recognise, celebrate and reward excellent practice in State Schools
- foster a learning culture that supports sharing excellent practices
- create professional development opportunities
- promote public education.
The eight categories for 2009 were:
- The Network Ten Showcase Award for Excellence in the Early Phase of Learning
- The Commonwealth Bank of Australia Showcase Award for Excellence in the Middle Phase of Learning
- The RACQ Showcase Award for Excellence in the Senior Phase of Learning
- The Showcase Award for Excellence in Inclusive Education
- The Queensland University of Technology Showcase Award for Excellence in Leadership
- The RemServ Showcase Award for Excellence in Innovation
- The Showcase Award for Academic Excellence
- The Showcase Award for Excellence in Community or Industry Partnerships
- 82 regional awards were announced during State Education Week 2009 (1-6 June). Each received $1000 in development grants funds
- 24 State Finalists (three from each category) received an additional $5000 in grants and had the chance to win one of eight State Awards
- Eight State Awards received $20 000 in grants and were announced at the Showcase Gala Dinner on Thursday 29 October 2009.
