Local Consensus Events (LCEs) are a central feature of the standards validation process for Rich Tasks and Blueprint Tasks. They are intended to facilitate the comparability of reported results within and across schools enacting Rich Tasks.
At an LCE, teachers from different schools gather to review the grades provisionally awarded by other schools for Rich Task and Blueprint Task demonstrations, and to provide written advice to those schools about how they are applying the standards in their grading decisions.
Over time, LCEs are intended to build common understandings of the standards across the state.
Should schools wish to continue involvement in LCEs, they are encouraged to network with like schools.
