Education Queensland and QCPCA partnership protocols

A P&C Services Manager has been established, based at QCPCA and funded by Education Queensland. The manager will ensure consistent advice is provided to schools and P&Cs and will oversee the development of a set of jointly badged QCPCA and EQ training materials and documentation.

School principals will continue to ensure their local P&C is operating effectively and complying with relevant P&C legislation and regulations as outlined in Education (General Provisions) Act 2006 Chapter 7 External Link (new window) Adobe PDF document and Education (General Provisions) Regulation 2006 Part 6 External Link (new window) Adobe PDF document. It is the principal's role to ensure that their P&C is carrying out their operational requirements such as submitting their constitution to the regional office for approval and completing and submitting their annual audited accounts.

P&Cs should approach their school principal in the first instance regarding any financial issues. If they are unable to assist, the Principal should seek advice from the Regional Office Contact, who will determine how the Region will manage the response. The P&C can contact the Regional Office if the issue remains unresolved.

Regional Offices are responsible for the ongoing support and training of principals to ensure the effective operation of P&Cs. Regions are also responsible for the resolution of parental/community concerns that have not been able to be resolved at the school level. Regional Directors are responsible for determining how they are to deliver these services.

The QCPCA has established a HELP section on the QCPCA website with a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, links to Fact Sheets and a contact email address for enquires: enquiries@qcpca.org.au

The QCPCA is responsible for maintaining information on its website. QCPCA will respond to all incoming enquiries relating to factual questions about P&C operations. Other issues will be redirected to the relevant organisation for example tuckshop enquiries will be directed to QAST, P&C employee working conditions will be directed to the ACSEA and local school issues directed to the relevant Regional Office.
