Commencing late 2007, the Department of Education, Training and the Arts (DETA) entered into a preferred supplier arrangement for the provision of academic advice with sixteen (16) academics (new window) 23k
from four Australian Universities. This arrangement is for a period of two years, with the option of extending for a further 12 months.
The department 's preferred supplier academics have been selected based on their qualifications and experience, and include highly esteemed researchers such as Professor Barry McGaw from Melbourne University, Professor Claire Wyatt-Smith from Griffith University, Professor Doune MacDonald, The University of Queensland and Professor Ann Farrell from the Queensland University of Technology.
These academics can be contracted under the preferred supplier arrangement to perform a wide variety of tasks where research expertise or other advice is sought. This includes, but is not limited to:
