The Arts - Professional associations and networks

This page provides information and links to professional learning networks, associations and communities that support teachers in teaching and learning in The Arts.

Arts Networks

Professional learning communities have been established in many locations across Queensland to provide professional development opportunities for teachers in the early and middle phases of learning. These networks are organised by teachers and respond to the professional development needs of teachers in their area for all five disciplines (Dance, Drama, Media, Music, Visual Arts). Dance

Media

Orff Schulwerk
The magic of Carl Orff's "Schulwerk" was inspired by the Greek concept of "mousike", the integration of performing arts, and the "elemental" forms of music as the basic building blocks of human aesthetic experience. The ideas behind his "Music for Children" have been absorbed into the music education culture of many nations.
