The following resources have been developed by Education Queensland to support the implementation of The Arts curriculum:
The Arts Professional Community (the Learning Place, Education Queensland)
Through this online community website, arts educators and arts networks within Queensland can support their professional community activities. While Education Queensland hosts this website, access is open to arts educators in non-state schooling sectors, in universities and training institutes and in arts and cultural organisations.
Arts Discussion List (Listserv)
This discussion list is for arts curriculum leaders. While Education Queensland hosts this list serve, access is open to all.
Curriculum Exchange (the Learning Place, Education Queensland)
The Curriculum Exchange provides Learning Place members* with access to the best available resources for e-learning through its digital repository. The following resources have been developed in collaboration with Curriculum Division, Education Queensland:
- Embedding the Arts: Planning an arts curriculum across the whole school
Curriculum planning resources to support Education Queensland schools to implement The Arts Years 1 to 10 syllabus across their whole school.
- ICTs and Arts
Ideas taken from the The Arts and ICTs: Practical Ideas for Teachers, one of the ICTs for Learning series of booklets developed as part of the ICT Learning and Development Strategy.
- Teaching The Arts
These clips show how teachers support their students to engage in quality arts learning experiences in Dance, Drama, Media, Music and Visual Art. The clips also include interviews with the teacher explaining their approach to arts education in the primary and middle phase of learning. 'The Teaching The Arts' project is a partnership between Curriculum Division (Education Queensland) and The Arts professional associations representing the five arts disciplines.
*Please note: Only Education Queensland employees can self-register to join the Learning Place. All other interested persons should contact the Learning Place administrator.
