The Arts - Curriculum Support

In Education Queensland's Curriculum Division, the Arts education officers develop, implementation and support measures for quality arts curriculum outcomes in State schools. The Arts education officers are responsible for supporting State schools to:

implement state-wide arts curriculum policies, guidelines and practices, and
embed principles and strategies for effective arts education in response to the needs and capabilities of learners.

This is achieved by:

Developing case studies and models of effective arts curriculum practice that deliver enhanced outcomes for all students
working in partnerships with arts education professional associations and networks
managing a number of arts education programs servicing state schools
provide advise to education programs and initiatives by those arts organisations supported by the DETA
providing advice and support to officers managing the education programs at arts and cultural organisations
developing and reviewing arts policies and procedures
managing websites and discussion lists that build arts professional communities

In Queensland, each schooling sector (State, Independent and Catholic) is responsible for supporting the implementation of the curriculum in schools:

State school sector - Education Queensland

Catholic school sector - QCEC
