The Arts - Curriculum Support

The team assists with quality curriculum programs in the arts, improved learning outcomes for all students in the arts, effective teaching in the arts, assisting in developing a skilled confident workforce to teach the arts, fostering use of learning technology in the arts where this is appropriate, and supporting workplace health and safety for arts students and teachers.

We also represent the department on committees relating to school curriculum, resources and facilities, the broader community, curriculum bodies and other departments. We provide advice to senior officers on national and state developments in the arts and in specific art forms and we maintain a watching brief on international and national directions.

In addition we manage several programs servicing schools, providing expertise, leadership and management for these programs.

The Arts team is available to:

provide advice on current policy and suggested implementation.
co-ordinate and support the implementation of new curriculum materials, and to lead workshops.
assist in training leaders for curriculum initiatives.
liaise with networks of school and other personnel.
provide professional leadership and advocacy in arts areas.
