The draft Assessment and Reporting Framework (ARF) for Years 1-10 in Education Queensland schools released in June 2003 by the Assessment and New Basics Branch was part of a suite of responses by the Department to The Report of the Assessment and Reporting Taskforce (2002) new window

Developmental work associated with the elements of the framework began in 2003. Some aspects (concerned with policy) were suspended early in 2004. Those investigating operational aspects of implementation in classrooms have been explored more fully. That variation will be evident in the information provided on this site.
During 2004, the importance of reporting by schools to parents and the community was reflected in a (separate) community consultation new window
that resulted in a comprehensive report and a new set of requirements.
