Curriculum and Principals' Alliance (CAPA)

CAPA is a joint initiative of the Principals' Associations in Queensland and Curriculum Branch to support principal curriculum leadership.

Aims

The aims of the alliance are to:

continue to build curriculum capacity and capability in state school principals, and to
support principals in their role as curriculum leaders.

The Curriculum and Principals' Alliance is committed to:

high standards in educational leadership.
quality teaching and learning in schools.
focusing the work of principals on quality teaching and learning.
building a more robust, student-centred, collaborative government education sector.
optimising the potential of each individual student in every school.

The work of CAPA is overseen by a Steering Committee with membership as follows

A Manager from Curriculum Branch serves as Executive Officer of the Committee.

To determine and communicate the support needs of principals around curriculum issues.
To communicate and clarify curriculum policy and accountabilities.
To provide direction and advice on the format, structure, timing and content of Curriculum Institutes.
To monitor the effectiveness of current and on-going activities.
To determine future curriculum needs and provide strategic advice about curriculum.
To establish protocols for working collaboratively and cooperatively.
