Partnerships with council staff

Although there is great benefit in teachers networking to share ideas on developing resources new window 90K Adobe PDF document (new window ), there is also real value in teachers networking with members of the community responsible for educating citizens about rights and responsibilities. By working together, teachers and local council staff can coordinate the activities so that reinforcement might occur and key messages transmitted. Building partnerships with council staff mean students have more opportunities to know and to do. They learn within the school and community environments and from a variety of presenters.

The Redland Shire example demonstrates how learning can be effectively coordinated through partnerships involving schools and council staff.
