LANC Literacy and Numeracy Topical Conversations
This list has been set up for educators interested in professional discussion on literacy and numeracy teaching and learning. The discussion list is an initiative of Teaching and Learning Branch, Education Services Directorate, and has arisen from suggestions made during National Literacy Week Queensland activities. It is anticipated that the discussion list will operate during the school year.
The purpose of this list is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information related to a broad scope of literacy and numeracy subjects, activities, research teaching and learning. It is expected that subscribers will raise issues and topics relevant to their needs.
Through this list you could:
- share a common problem or solution
- find out about a resource and its educational history or value
- catch up on some news from colleagues in other educational systems
- share details of other online communities you have joined
- find a partner to work on a project related to the topic
- ask for advice.
This will be a 'friendly' list where discussions are conducted in a courteous, supportive atmosphere (no flames). That doesn't mean we can't or won't disagree; it just means that we will share and debate our various points of view in respectful and constructive ways.
It is hoped that critical and constructive debate through the discussion list will generate discussion in school communities and support the implementation of effective and innovative practices in schools.
