Literate Futures: Whole-school Literacy Planning Guidelines is a 36 page booklet delivered to schools in March 2002.
The booklet has a companion CD-ROM that provides stories and sample documents developed by LDCs (Literacy) and schools during 2001. A description of the CD-ROM contents is available from the menu. A poster also accompanies this resource package.
This set of guidelines has been prepared by the Literate Futures Project team to assist schools undertaking whole-school literacy planning. It draws upon the experience of Queensland state schools and is based on the findings of the Literacy Review. It provides advice on processes which have been found to be effective, key aspects of literacy planning that are productive to explore, and information about links between different systemic initiatives which are a part of the overall school reform agenda.

A large format poster titled Exploring the key aspects of effective literacy planning accompanies each booklet. It features key aspects of whole-school literacy planning and provides questions around each aspect to encourage professional conversation.
