Phases of Learning

Education Queensland recognises the differing characteristics of the learner, and learning needs, as students move through their years of schooling.

Curriculum planning and responsive teaching addresses the distinctive and diverse needs of students in the three phases of learning:

Education Queensland promotes continuity of learning as students' progress through these phases through alignment of curriculum, assessment and reporting practices and through teaching that builds on what students already know, to develop in-depth knowledge of the curriculum.
