Conference facilities

Among the many attractive features of the department's Conference Centre is its accessibility. There are two available locations conveniently situated in the Queensland Government's precinct of the CBD:

Level 12 of Education House, 30 Mary Street, Brisbane Q

Both locations are within walking distance to many of Brisbane's most popular attractions, the Botanical Gardens, South Bank, Queensland Performing Arts Complex and all major shopping and accommodation venues. Further, both facilities are a short walk away from all forms of transport; Buses, City Cat ferries and public carparks.

Internal clients (DETE staff) requiring a room at Level 12, Education House or Level 19, AM60 can access the Booking form for Queensland internal clients. You will be sent a payment advice sheet which must be completed and emailed to

For external clients, please complete the Booking form for other government agencies.

Arrangements and policies


DETE clients: Payment for the hire of rooms will be direct debited via cost centre provided on return payment advice. Schools will be direct debited (+GST) and copy of invoice will be posted for information purposes only.

External government agencies: an invoice (which included GST) will be mailed to the contact requesting the booking. The Invoice must be paid within 7 days of being received. Payment can be made by cheque, Corporate Card or Direct Debit.


All cancellations are to be advised via email to Conference Centre Bookings. When doing so please state the date of the booking, time and location.

A full fee will be charged if bookings are cancelled within two clear working days of the event.


Catering is to be organised independently by the conference planner. All catering needs other than food are supplied by the Conference Centre ie: cutlery, crockery etc.


The DETE Conference Centre has all the equipment necessary to ensure your conference/meeting is a success. Any external technological devices are not permitted for use within the Conference Centre.
