Education support funding program

Purpose

Funds are provided to implement new strategies and deliver enhanced services and programs identified through the education support planning process to support children in the care of the state in relation to:

Participation - access, attendance and engagement in education;
Wellbeing - social, emotional and physical;
Academic achievement - extension and learning support;
Other priorities.

Expenditure Guidelines

Schools are responsible for using the funds to enhance outcomes associated with the purpose of this grant.

Allocation of Funds

Each region should collaboratively develop their Regional Action Plan based on their knowledge and understanding of:

the particular needs of all children and young people in the care of the state enrolled in their districts and schools, identified through requests based on the Education Support Plan process;
all school based support services and other programs currently available;
gaps in education support services for children and young people in the care of the state; and
the funds available to the region.

Rates of payment are non-specific and based on individual programs.
