Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme (ITAS)

Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 Tuition

Purpose:

ITAS is for the purpose of providing supplementary assistance to improve educational outcomes of Indigenous students. ITAS Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 Tuition is to improve learning outcomes of Indigenous students and to increase retention and increase completion of study plans.

Expenditure Guidelines

ITAS funds are to provide supplementary tuition for Indigenous students studying subjects leading to the completion of year 9, 10, 11 and 12. Further details about this program are provided in the ITAS - Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 Tuition - Accountability Guidelines.

Allocation of Funds

For ITAS Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 Tuition, the criteria that determine the allocation include: number of Indigenous enrolments in years 9, 10, 11 and 12; Remoteness of each school and an assumption of 70% Individual Tuition and 30% Group Tuition.

Allocations will vary each year depending upon the number of Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 enrolments and the level of funds available for distribution.

Allocations are based on the same criteria used by the Australian Government to determine funding for the Department of Education, Training and The Arts.
