Information and Communication Technologies Infrastructure Capital Assistance Scheme

Purpose

This scheme provides State Government funds to assist eligible non-state schools to install and upgrade Information and Communication Technologies infrastructure.

The scheme is administered on behalf of the Queensland Government by Capital Assistance Authorities (CAAs), one nominated by the Queensland Catholic Education Commission and one nominated by Independent Schools Queensland Inc.

Expenditure Guidelines

Each CAA receives and assesses applications for capital assistance from affiliated schools, makes recommendations to the Minister for Education and Training, makes payments to schools, monitors the progress of projects and carries out other functions as set out in the Education (Capital Assistance) Act 1993 External Link (new window) Adobe PDF document.

Funds are allocated to each CAA to assist with the costs associated with the administration of the scheme.

Currently no specific budget appropriation for this program.

Eligibility

Accredited non-state schools that are eligible for Government funding and affiliated with a CAA may apply to the relevant CAA. CAAs assess applications and make recommendations to the Minister for Education and Training who decides on approvals.

Form of Assistance

One-off grant for each approved project.

Payment Details

Payment of assistance may be sought when approved projects are at least 25% complete.

Allocation of Funds

The funds allocated for a particular project are as assessed by the relevant CAA and approved by the Minister for Education and Training.

Due Date for Submissions

CAAs notify schools by 30 September of the previous year of the date by which applications must be submitted.
