Employee Assistance Service

The Department of Education and Training's Employee Assistance Service (EAS) provides a range of supportive psychological health services to employees.

For staff employed within a school, education regional office or with early childhood education and care (ECEC), services are delivered by Employee Advisors. For staff employed with TAFE, Training and Brisbane Central Office/CBD, including Coorparoo. Employee assistance services are provided by an external counselling service. Services include free short-term confidential counselling, post incident intervention (critical and/or traumatic incident), presentations and group work. These services assist individuals and groups to increase psychological resilience, improve communication, develop positive work relationships and enhance well-being.

School, Education Regions and Early Childhood Education and Care Staff:

The Employee Advisors across the state are qualified counsellors, psychologists or social workers. Employee Advisors service particular regions and may use external psychologists under extenuating circumstances to provide some counselling sessions.

TAFE Institute, Training Regional Office, Disability Support Service and Central Office/Brisbane CBD Staff:

The external counselling servce, including psychological counselling and post incident intervention (critical and/or traumatic incident) is provided by Davidson Trahaire Corpsyche.
