Reasonable Adjustment

Where an employee has been diagnosed with a permanent medical impairment or disability, they may be able to continue to perform the inherent requirements of their substantive position with reasonable adjustment. Reasonable adjustment is where adjustments are made to a position, an employment practice, the workplace or work-related environment to ensure equal opportunity for people with a disability.

The Department has a policy for reasonable adjustment for people with a disability.

Further information on reasonable adjustments can be obtained from the Department's Workforce Diversity and Equity Unit at their WDE website.
