Emergency Planning

Emergency plans should be prepared and practiced to ensure the safety of students, staff and others on site. Plans are needed for a range of critical incidents including fire, explosion, chemical release, violence or dangerous weather conditions.

Development, communication and practicing of plans will assist in preventing panic and improve the management of the situation.

The plans that you develop will need to be relevant to your location and schools should contact their local emergency services to ensure integration of plans with other local agencies.
