All Queensland state schools are required to implement processes to support continuous improvement and enhanced accountability through an annual operational planning and reporting cycle and a three-year strategic planning and review process.
Destination 2010 establishes the statewide strategies and targets that focus the State's and each school's commitment in providing education and training to meet the needs of our students and communities.
Health and Safety is a component of the Destination 2010 document. This document requires schools to address strategies which 'promote safe and healthy learning environments by proactively managing and regularly monitoring workplace health and safety at the school in consultation with staff and the wider community'.
As part of the Annual Operational Planning process schools should coordinate the completion of the Annual Assessment and facilitate consultation to influence actions and strategies for the planning cycle.
Managing Health and Safety provides information to assist schools develop strategies to address this objective. This section provides information specific to annual assessment, accidents and incidents, workplace health and safety officers, risk management, committees and visitor and contractor management.
