In July 2007, the Cabinet Budget Review Committee undertook a review of a number of government programs to determine ongoing funding arrangements. A decision was made to cease the First Start (full time) and Youth Training (school-based) incentives for all state government departments and statutory authorities.
As a consequence, it is with regret that we are unable to offer any traineeship allocation under the Skilling Queenslanders for Work 
initiative.
Please note that you are still able to recruit full time and school-based trainees, to be funded solely from school resources, and are encouraged to do so.
As the traineeship initiative is no longer centrally coordinated, if you have any questions, in relation to the engagement of trainees and the associated paperwork, please contact your regional human resources area.
