Education Queensland offers a diverse range of positions both within its teaching and non-teaching workforce. It employs in excess of 35,000 teachers and 15,000 administrative personnel who contribute to the delivery of quality education services through over 1300 state primary, secondary, special and distance education schools.
Education Queensland currently has a large number of applicants seeking work in primary schools. Generally there is demand for teachers in the areas of maths/science, languages other than English (LOTE), manual arts, special education, instrumental music and home economics in rural and regional locations.

Traineeships - Skilling Queenslanders for Work

Traineeships - Skilling Queenslanders for Workis designed to assist unemployed people to gain vocational qualifications and work experience. Trainees are contracted to the department for a fixed period of up to 12 months and are required to undertake on-the-job and off-the-job training as specified in a Training Plan.
