Vacancies become available throughout the year.

Advertised promotional vacancies are advertised in the Notification of Vacancies Section of the Queensland Government Gazette. Further informatoin can be obtained from GO PRINT .

All advertised promotional vacancies can also be viewed on the internet.

All application forms, position descriptions and selection criteria can be accessed directly from the Smart jobs and Careers .

Application Process

A separate application and three copies of the application should be submitted for each position with different vacancy reference numbers (VRN). It is the applicants responsibility to ensure that the correct application for advertised position coversheet, position description and selection criteria is obtained. It is not departmental policy to accept emailed applications at this time.

The basis for selection is the relative merit of each application in relation to the selection criteria identified in the position description for the advertised vacancy. The definition of merit is as outlined in the Public Service Act (Section 78).

Applicants must address all selection criteria. For more information see Classified Public Service Positions applicant information bulletin.

A total application for classified public service promotional positions should include the following;

a fully and accurately completed Coversheet;
a brief summary of your career outlining positions held and major
responsibilities;
responses to the selection criteria;
the names, positions and telephone contact numbers for two referees
