School Based Promotional Teaching Positions

Advertising

Vacancies become available throughout the year. Each semester a round of promotional positions for Principals, Deputy Principals, Head of Departments, Head of Special Education Services and Head of Curriculum positions will be advertised. Occasionally, a vacancy may be advertised during a term in exceptional circumstances.

Advertised promotional vacancies are advertised on Govnet Smart jobs and Careers at http://www.smartjobs.qld.gov.au and in the Notification of Vacancies Section of the Queensland Government Gazette, copies of which are available from GO PRINT .

Application Process

Position descriptions and application packages can be obtained from the Smart jobs and Careers website at http://www.smartjobs.qld.gov.au . Should an applicant have difficulty downloading these documents, assistance can be obtained from the Vacancy Processing Officer on (07) 3237 1300.

The basis for selection is the relative merit of each application in relation to the selection criteria identified in the position description for the advertised vacancy. The definition of merit is as outlined in the Public Service Act (Section 78).
