Locations

State schools are just as diverse as their locations and with more than 1300 state schools across Queensland, teachers have many opportunities to experience teaching in a diverse range of contexts, communities and locations.

The department has seven (7) diverse educational regions 495k:

• Central Queensland
• Darling Downs South West
• Far North Queensland
• Metropolitan
• North Coast
• North Queensland
• South East

Information about working, living and playing in each region of Queensland is provided by the Queensland Government's Work, Live, Play Queensland website.

In order to satisfy statewide staffing requirements, permanent teachers may be required to work anywhere in Queensland at some time in their careers.
