Offers of employment

Offers of employment as a teacher in a Queensland state school are dependent upon the number and nature of vacancies.

Offers are made on the basis of:

Offers can be made at anytime of the year and not just the commencement of the school year.

To fill current vacancies, regional human resources teams must consider permanent teachers with the relevant teaching capabilities who have requested a transfer or those returning from leave before they have an opportunity to appoint new applicants.

Offers of permanent or temporary employment are coordinated by human resources staff in regional offices. Negotiations of these offers of employment with applicants may be by telephone, fax, email or mail. All offers will be confirmed in writing once accepted.

Offers of casual relief or supply employment are coordinated by TRACER External Link or managed by individual schools.

Applicants need to consider that restricted location preferences may significantly limit their employment opportunities.
