The Department of Education and Training is offering up to 25 scholarships including financial incentives and the opportunity for permanent employment, to high achieving final year pre-service teachers who are currently completing an approved undergraduate or postgraduate pre-service teacher education program in Semester 2, 2011.
Bid O'Sullivan Teaching Scholarships
Available to assist Year 12 students from rural and remote areas of Queensland who have chosen teaching as their career.
Graduate Teacher Employment Scholarship
Supports high-achieving, final year pre-service teachers undertaking a teacher education program who are committed to becoming a Language, Mathematics B & C, Chemistry, Physics, Industrial Technology and Design or Special Education teacher in a Queensland State school in a rural or remote location.
Pearl Duncan Teaching Scholarships
Available to assist Queenslanders of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage who have chosen teaching as their career.
Step Into Teaching Scholarships
Available to high-achieving science and mathematics graduates who are committed to becoming senior Mathematics, Chemistry or Physics teachers in Queensland state high schools. Scholarship recipients receive generous financial study assistance and the opportunity to obtain valuable experience and consolidate their skills through teaching in a supportive, rural, remote or regional environment after graduation.

Supports high-achieving students commencing a teacher education program at a Queensland Higher Education Institution (HEI).
Beyond the Range - Professional Experience Grants
Offer financial support to high-achieving, pre-service teachers undertaking a professional experience placement in rural or remote Queensland state schools.
Kindy - Beyond the Range Professional Experience Grants
Support for early childhood pre-service teachers wishing to undertake a professional experience placement in a rural, remote or regional kindergarten service.
