The department offers a number of scholarships or grants to high achieving aspiring and preservice teachers who are about to commence or are currently completing an approved undergraduate or postgraduate preservice teacher education program.
While some scholarships are offered annually, others are offered from time-to-time or on a 'one-off' basis to assist with meeting workforce demand.

In April, the department announced the recipients of the scholarships and grants for 2016 327K at a presentation ceremony held in the Brisbane City Hall.
Receive up to $20,000 and the opportunity to secure an early permanent appointment in schools identified as high priority within Darling Downs South West, Central Queensland, North Queensland and Far North Queensland Regions.
Open to eligible high-achieving preservice teachers.
Up to $2,000 to undertake a professional experience in a rural or remote Queensland state school.
Open to eligible high achieving preservice teachers.
Teacher Education Centres of Excellence (TECE) improve the professional experience component of initial teacher education programs.
Each TECE has a specific focus aimed at identifying and developing high quality preservice teachers for employment in high priority state schools across Queensland.
Up to $25,000 to assist with study-related expenses, access to permanent employment as a teacher, and professional development programs.
Open to experienced professionals and university graduates seeking to transition to a teaching career.
Up to $20,000 to assist with study-related expenses, access to permanent employment as a teacher, and professional development programs.
Open to eligible aspiring teachers who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
Up to $10,000.
Open to exemplary students who demonstrate outstanding leadership in their school and the broader community as well as academic excellence through achievements in Year 12.
One off payment of up to $1,500 to assist with study-related expenses.
Open to eligible high achieving secondary school students about to commence study to become a teacher.
Up to $5,000 to assist with study-related expenses.
Open to eligible tertiary students who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
The department no longer offers scholarships in the following programs, however existing recipients will continue to be supported.
