Jonathon Jones

Industrial technology and
design Teacher

Jonathon is currently in his first year of teaching at Stretton State College. He is teaching design and technology, engineering, construction and graphics to students in years 7 to 11.

Jonathon was inspired by some of his teachers and chose a teaching career because of his strong will to help people.

We asked our teachers to reflect on their teaching career and complete the following statements.

The most rewarding aspect of being a teacher is...
Those light bulb moments that students have.

I believe that I have made a difference to my students...
When they can use what I have taught them to create something beautiful or useful.

As a state school teacher I have had the opportunity to...
Work with a vast array of students.

The three personal qualities that I think are important for teachers are...
Kindness, caring and passion.

A memorable moment from my teaching career was...
When my students pointed out during my first class ever, how nervous I was.

My career aspirations are...
To make a difference in the lives of my students.

I would encourage people to consider a teaching career if...
They want to make a difference in the lives of our future leaders.
