Marg is currently the Principal of East Brisbane State School. She has also been a primary teacher and physical education teacher.
Marg believes that people considering a teaching career should be passionate and committed to making a difference in student's lives.
We asked our teachers to reflect on their teaching career and complete the following statements.
I chose a teaching career because...
For as long as I can remember, I always wanted to be a teacher.
The most rewarding aspect of being a teacher is...
Seeing the smiles on children's faces!
I believe that I have made a difference to my students by...
Seeing them own their own learning and striving to do their best.
As a state school teacher I have had the opportunity to...
Teach students from a diverse range of social and cultural backgrounds. What a privilege!
The three personal qualities that I think are important for teachers are...
Commitment, passion and persistence.
A memorable moment from my teaching career was...
Watching as the whole school cheered a young boy in a wheelchair compete in a race on sports day.
My career aspirations are...
To continue to work as a principal in state education.
