Teach Team: Education Queensland Teaching Ambassadors

The Teach Team is an�initiative of the Department of Education and Training which:

promotes�teaching as a career
promotes the diversity of teaching opportunities in Queensland state schools
promotes the Department of Education and Training as the employer of choice for teachers in Queensland
provides positive, consistent and up to date information about employment and career opportunities in Queensland state schools.

Teach Team Ambassadors

The Teach Team is a small team of passionate teaching ambassadors who have wide and varied experience and knowledge including:

teaching and leadership in regional and rural schools
teaching in remote and indigenous community schools, including Partners for Success schools
teaching in urban schools, including Low Socio-economic School communities
teacher application appointment and transfer processes.

Information Sessions

The department requests that 90 to 120 minutes be allocated for the Teach Team information sessions to provide appropriate opportunities for information to be provided and for attendees to engage with presenters.

Information sessions will cover key topics including:

benefits and opportunities for state school teachers
teaching in rural, remote and regional locations
demand areas and locations
application processes
support and induction for beginning teachers
career opportunities
current departmental initiatives such as Teacher Education Centres of Excellence and Beyond the Range Professional Experience Grants.

Please note that sessions cannot be conducted on pupil free days or during school holidays.

Request a Teach Team Session

The Department of Education and Training welcomes the opportunity to provide information sessions to pre-service teachers at Queensland and Northern New South Wales Higher Education Institutions.

To request a session please complete and email the Teach Team Request Form 79k to teacher.quality@deta.qld.gov.au or fax (07) 3237 0842.

The Department welcomes the opportunity to provide multiple presentations during a campus visit (i.e. different cohorts). Please complete a separate form for each information presentation.

Requests for a Teach Team session must be submitted a minimum of three weeks prior to the proposed event.

Confirmation of the availability of the Teach Team will be provided in writing.
