Teaching in Queensland

The department is responsible for the delivery of quality education and training services to all Queensland students.

The department provides quality education services across Queensland through Education Queensland, Training Queensland External Link and the Office for Early Childhood Education and Care.

The department's vision for education and training is to ensure that all Queensland students become active citizens in a learning environment. The central purpose of education and training in Queensland is to create a safe, tolerant and disciplined environment within which young people prepare to be active and reflective Australian citizens with a disposition for lifelong learning.

Queensland state schools

Education Queensland delivers high quality education to more than 70 per cent of all Queensland school students.

The department is responsible for approximately:

Large numbers of non-teaching professionals, such as Speech Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists and administrative and support staff work collaboratively with our teachers.
