Building the Education Revolution Element 3: National School Pride

This element of the Australian Government's Building the Education Revolution initiative is providing funding to undertake construction of small scale infrastructure and minor refurbishment projects in all eligible Queensland schools.

All Queensland state schools were eligible for funding subject to the requirements outlined in the Australian Government's Building the Education Revolution Guidelines External Link (new window) Adobe PDF document.

Funding was not available to Environmental Education Centres

Funding

Funds have been allocated on the basis of the audited February 2009 full-time equivalent (FTE) enrolment data.

Indicative funding caps provided by the Australian Government are as follows:

The indicative funding caps provided by the Australian Government are the maximum allowable funding for each school under the Australian Government's Building the Education Revolution Guidelines External Link (new window) Adobe PDF document. They are inclusive of all professional costs and contingencies.

Eligible projects

Under the National School Pride Program, schools were given the opportunity to propose eligible projects including:

Nomination and submission process for National School Pride Program

Queensland state schools were invited to nominate projects for the National School Pride Program via an online submission process.

An email was sent to all Queensland state school principals on 12 March 2009 linking through to the online nomination form.

Round 1 submissions closed on Monday 23 March while Round 2 submissions closed 24 April 2009.

National School Pride projects were required to fit within the Australian Government's Projects outside the National School Pride scope were considered for Round 2.

Schools were required to submit their project nominations via the online nomination forms.
