The Department's vision for libraries under the Primary Schools for the 21st Century element of the Building the Education Revolution program in Queensland is to create functional spaces that support and enhance learning. The libraries will be used by schools and the wider community and are based on the principles of current best practice and environmentally sustainable design.
The design template will be overlaid on each school site and take into consideration the local site constraints and the BER budget.
When developing a nomination under the Primary Schools for the 21st Century element, schools will need to ensure that the proposed solution is within the Australian Government's funding caps and takes into account costs associated with the removal of any existing buildings or facilities.
