The Science and Language Centre for 21st Century Secondary Schools funding will be allocated via a competitive process, as outlined in the Australian Government's guidelines.
All secondary schools and P-12 (secondary only) were encouraged to submit expressions of interest to the department.
Schools will need to meet the following criteria as outlined in the Australian Government's Building the Education Revolution Guidelines

The Australian Government has indicated that $1 billion in total will be allocated across all states in a competitive bid-based process.
The Australian Government will convene an assessment panel to decide which projects will be funded.
Process for Science and Language Centre for 21st Century Secondary Schools
State schools have recently had the opportunity to submit nominations for projects that meet the Australian Government's eligibility criteria.
Submissions will be prioritised by the Australian Government as part of an Australia-wide competitive process. In line with Australian Government requirements, submissions have also been prioritised by the department prior to their submission. Details of the priorisiation process
