Key actions and timelines for state schools

To ensure that the Building the Education Revolution initiative has a significant impact on the economy, through the immediate creation of jobs, project timelines are tight and construction will need to is commencing as quickly as possible.

The Department has worked with schools to quickly identify capital works projects across the state that are eligible for funding.

This page provides the key actions and timelines for state schools in each of the three key elements of the Building the Education Revolution initiative.

Building the Education Revolution Element 1: Primary Schools for the 21st Century

20% of schools

Schools identified by the Department for Round 1 will continue to be contacted by telephone and in person.

Schools requiring extended timelines to consult on projects will be considered in further submission rounds.

40% of schools

Online nominations to central office open 6 April 2009 and closed 1 May 2009.

Round 3

40% of schools

Final round. Online nominations to central office open 11 May 2009 and closed 12 June 2009.

Building the Education Revolution Element 2: Science and Language Centres for 21st Century Secondary Schools

Building the Education Revolution Element 3: National School Pride

60% of schools

Online nominations to central office open 12 March 2009 and closed 23 March 2009.

Schools requiring extended timelines to consult on projects will be required to nominate in the next round.

40% of schools
