Bellevue Park State School caters for the multiple intelligences of students

Modern 21st century architecture combined with interactive learning enterprises have come together with the construction of Bellevue Park State School's Building the Education Revolution (BER) funded resource centre.

The $3million facility has boosted student morale, as well as creating a visual presence for the school.

School Principal Janelle Gordon said the school community was ecstatic with their new facility, made possible by the BER project. "The new resource centre houses the library with a useful kitchen area, seminar room and media centre with a covered breeze way connecting the science and technology centre and multi purpose built music room," she said.

"All rooms are used extensively on a daily basis with the opportunities for enriching the implementation of curriculum increasing as the facilities have become a part of the community's culture.

"The emphasis on literature, reading, technology and performing arts allows the school to offer a range of programs that cater for the multiple intelligences of our students and prepare them to be effective participants in the 21st century."

Education and Industrial Relations Minister Cameron Dick has congratulated Bellevue Park State School on their new resource centre.

The new resource centre was funded under the Australian Government's $16.2 billion Building the Education Revolution (BER) program which is providing contemporary educational facilities to eligible Australian schools as part of a national economic stimulus package.

Mr Dick said the implementation of the Australian Government's Building the Education Revolution program is a great example of the two levels of government working in partnership to enhance educational facilities for Queensland's children.

"The provision of these facilities under BER will complement the Queensland Government's delivery of a 21st Century education throughout the state," he said.

"The provision of contemporary resource centres provide an environment for students to work collaboratively on innovative teaching and learning enterprises."
