Patricks Road State School - Learning for the Future

Patricks Road State School are creating a teaching and learning environment, laying the foundation for their student’s future.

Through the Australian Government’s Building the Education Revolution program (BER), the school received $3.2 million for their resource centre and science, technology and innovation centre as well as an extension to their multi purpose hall.

Patricks Road officially opened the facilities on November 14, celebrating with dignitaries Senator Mark Furner and P&C officials with a guided tour of their two storey resource centre and innovative learning centre and hall extension.

The $3 million resource centre features a library upstairs with 21st century teaching equipment, while the ground level features a fully functional kitchen, meeting room and community resource space as well as a green room for media production.

The facility is fully resourced with state-of-the-art wireless technology, lift for disability access and interactive learning space.

School Principal Bronwyn Braithwaite said the school community were extremely grateful for their multi-million-dollar BER facilities, stating that the resource centre and hall extension would ensure high-quality teaching, while improving the achievement of Patricks Road students.

Queensland Senator Mark Furner said the facilities would not only be a vital teaching tool for current students but for future generations attending the school.

The macnificant multi purpose hall extension, which now features a kitchenette, large storage area and performance stage, now provides a venue for students to showcase their acheivements, as well as serving as a useful community asset.
